The sadness and reflection of the last 3 weeks are over. It’s time to look forward, or maybe inward, as Tishrei comes upon us. Before we know it we will be dipping our apples into honey. Complaining about too many meals, davening on Yom Kippur, building a Succah and buying Arba Minim.
I’m looking forward to listening to lots of music. I already have a couple reviews lined up. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new 8th Day album. Is anything else coming out?
I got a heads up to a MySpace page for Aryeh Kunstler. He has an album coming out soon. I was apprehensive at first but the music is really good. Catchy songs that have a nice style and rhythm.
I’d pick up a copy when it comes out. I’ll write about it and the samples on the MySpace page soon. I want it to have it’s own post. But check that out here.
I haven’t heard about anything else. Except a Live Ohad DVD. Speaking of Ohad, here is a nice version of Adon Olam by Yishai Lapidot, Chaim Israel, Ohad Moskovitz, Mendy Jerufi & Amiran Dvir.

One final link for now, and boy is this a link. If you have about ten hours so spare (j/k) you can read this very thoughtful and well written post on the state of Jewish music. It covers a lot, it’s almost like a Jewish Music Manifesto. I don’t agree with ALL the opinions in this post, but the overall point and issues raised are all very valid.
